Bronco:
The next step is BRONCO
LEAGUE, where the players advance
from the 60 to the 70 foot diamond and for the
first time may pitch a complete seven inning
game. The pitching distance is 48 feet.
As 13- and 14 year-olds, the youngsters advance
to Baseball LEAGUE. In years past, players were
taken from a diamond with 60 foot basepaths
to the regulation 90 foot diamond. Infielders
who were playing on a diamond with 3,600 square
feet of playing area suddenly found themselves
on a diamond with 8,100 square feet of playing
area – more than double the area in one year.
The Baseball League diamond, with 6,400 square feet
and 80 foot basepaths, serves as the transition
program from the small diamonds to the regulations
diamonds, the pitching distance is 54 feet.
